The Craft of Play story begins with founder Robert Wagmiller’s desire to create a backyard playscape for his two boys and their friends that would be more engaging than the iPhone, iPad, Switch, and TV.

Our design process begins by identifying the unique features of your property and learning about your family. We use this information to design and build a playscape tailored to your children’s unique personalities and interests and the natural contours of your property.

The Craft of Play is a small, family-owned and run company dedicated to building beautiful, one-of-a-kind outdoor playscapes and adventure backyards. It was founded by Robert Wagmiller, a former college professor who specialized in child development. We are located in northern New Jersey.
